I love our 1902 home we purchased more 10 years ago. It is constantly evolving and goes through whatever changes my little heart desires. I love vintage treasures and I'm always on the hunt for them! My hope is that this blog will be a constant scrapbook for my family and home,a place to make new friends and just somewhere to lay out my thoughts, even if they aren't beautiful or inspiring. Family DeHuman weekend

Our family reunion was this weekend. We had such a fun time. It was for my dad's side of the family. My dad is the youngest of 7 kids. Now without getting into a whole lot of personal detail we are not the closest bunch. Which is sad. Especially with my dad being in not the best of shape after his stroke. (He's doing really well, hes' just not the same ya know?) So I felt the need to change that. I talked to my cousin Joann (Who I've  been close with through out my life but even we've had our ups and downs.) about a family reunion. We put our heads together and it turned out great! Her sister did a ton of work too including getting the hall and making gorgeous cakes too. I didn't get any pictures because well,I stink at that. But I have a few I stole borrowed off of my cousin Tracy.  It poured on Sunday.Luckily we were under a huge stone shelter but the kids felt they had to play in the rain. And get soaked. And complain about it.

The night before Caleb said 'Hey Noah! Do you know where we are going? To a Family DeHuman!!'

I really like to think it was a success and we'll do it again next year. Every one caught up and had a nice time. And the amount of delicious food was downright obscene. Next year the invites will need to state 'Please bring half as much food this year and don't forget to bring your own Tupperware' We were all wrapping stuff in foil and plastic bags. There was so many leftovers! So last night (Labor Day,didn't even get out of our PJ's!) we feasted on fried chicken, pulled pork, noodle casserole, fruit salad and I had some chocolate covered bacon!! And did I mention I brought home nearly a full sheet cake? Well that's breakfast :)

So after a 4 day weekend the kids are back at school. It finally feels like fall today. It's a cool 60* outside. I have all my windows open. Some 'Honey Pear Cider' Scentsy in the warmer. Tim got me some new jeans for my birthday and I can't wait till my Toms show up so I can wear those too. I think I'll need a new hoodie too.

Another BIG weekend is coming up. 6th grade fundraiser rummage sale on Saturday and The NOCC walk on Sunday. Which always includes Olive Garden after wards! Sunday is also the 10th anniversary of 9/11. So hard to believe it's been 10 years. I plan on going to a community church service later on in the day.

So it's a grey Tuesday that feels like a Monday. I really need to get something done. The flurry of activity over the weekend has left this place a disaster zone. Now where did I put my caution tape???

HEY! I liked how much stuffed cabbage your mom made! I had some on Sunday, yesterday for dinner, today for lunch and I still have one more container for lunch tomorrow! Love you Giblet!
