About 20 years ago I could always be found with my nose in a book. I probably couldn't tell you a whole lot about what was on tv or the latest 5th grade gossip from back then. I could however tell you the plot about the latest Baby Sitters Club book. I think a new one came out every month. (I've tried very hard to get Emma to like them but that's another story.) I remember the library giving us a summer reading list and I had to staple 3 or 4 together.(I wish I still had that list!). I would sit on the porch glider(wish I had that vintage glider.......) while the rest of the neighborhood kids played basketball. The books I started reading became more advanced.(I want my kids to love reading but I hope my 7th grader doesn't pick up The Graduate or Flowers In The Attic )
Years later as I became a mom and my free time has been taken up other hobbies such as crafts, cooking, being on here etc... I have come to read less and less. Sure I've completed the Harry Potter series and Twilight of course. Not to mention my vast collection of decorating and cookbooks. But It's been awhile since I've read a really good book. So my goal for 2010 is to read more books. I know some people make a goal of 52-1 book each week. There is no way I can do that! No way. So I'm going to go with 25. 2 a month plus one. Some fiction, some non-fiction. I'm going to start my list here. I admit some of these are re-reads.
Christmas is almost here and here is the good news:
Our Tree is up! Tim put it up and the kids decorated it. I wrapped the presents underneath that are for my nieces and nephews.
The bad news is that yesterday Tim,the boys and I were in an accident.A guy pulled right out in front of us. Thankfully we are all ok but the car is not :(

I love our 1902 home we purchased more 10 years ago. It is constantly evolving and goes through whatever changes my little heart desires. I love vintage treasures and I'm always on the hunt for them! My hope is that this blog will be a constant scrapbook for my family and home,a place to make new friends and just somewhere to lay out my thoughts, even if they aren't beautiful or inspiring.
