I love our 1902 home we purchased more 10 years ago. It is constantly evolving and goes through whatever changes my little heart desires. I love vintage treasures and I'm always on the hunt for them! My hope is that this blog will be a constant scrapbook for my family and home,a place to make new friends and just somewhere to lay out my thoughts, even if they aren't beautiful or inspiring. What I really want for Christmas.... an end to cancer! As you may have read my cousin Scott lost his battle with Melanoma in February. I lost my Gram back in 2000 to Ovarian Cancer.

In the past 10 days I have learned of 3 new diagnoses (1 early detection,1 stage 4,the other I'm not sure about) of people close to friends and family. I have also learned of 2 deaths. I get so emotional when I hear about things that are cancer related.

I'm not trying to be a downer here in the Christmas season. Not at all. I have faith in the power of prayer and healing. I have faith that those who don't make it will truly be in the Kingdom of Heaven if they have given themselves over to Jesus.

Scott, I know you are up there celebrating in the ultimate Christmas.

I am so sorry :-( I also have many loved ones who have been affected by the dreaded C-word. A very difficult thing to deal with, indeed.
