35 Y/O wife to Tim and mom to Emma,Noah,Caleb, Stella and 2 babies in Heaven.Trying to walk in the path of the Lord and carrying my family with me. I love our 1902 home we purchased more 10 years ago. It is constantly evolving and goes through whatever changes my little heart desires. I love vintage treasures and I'm always on the hunt for them! My hope is that this blog will be a constant scrapbook for my family and home,a place to make new friends and just somewhere to lay out my thoughts, even if they aren't beautiful or inspiring. long lost relatives, motherstress and open house: a week in review

Sunday was great! I joined lots of lovely ladies in my family to do the ovarian cancer walk. It's one of best ways I can think of to remember my Gram. Afterwards we all met up at my house where my aunt came to visit us.(She was my Gram's step-daughter and is my moms half sister).I don't think we've seen her in maybe 20?25? years. She was so nice and easy to talk to. I hope that we can see her again soon!(She lives in Florida.)She had lots of great stories and actually grew up in the community that my family resides in.

That night the remnants of Ike came by and knocked out power to half the neighborhood! Luckily we weren't one of those houses. Our phone and internet did get messed up for awhile though.

The next morning I attended a parenting seminar by Dr. Kevin Leman. The topic was Mother Stress and it was held at NWCC. I loved all of it. Dr Leman had great things to say. I'm very eager to read his book on Firstborns. I would have liked to have been present at the 'Have a New Kid by Friday' session but it was on Sunday. I've been blessed to find a friend in Karen who took me as her guest. I'm so happy our boys are friends and that God sent her my way.

The church was AMAZING!! I would love to be part of such a place. Even the nursery was impressive. Maybe I'm just full of excuses but for those of you who go to church with your family every week, please do not take it for granted. It is a luxury I wish I had.

Wednesday I had a nice day with my husband. Ok, Calebs pre-terrible-two's tantrum in the middle of PF Changs I could have done without. But other than that I loved getting to spend some much needed time with my husband. I try to only bring up the positive on here but right now life is not easy.So to be with him was great. I also did a little shopping. Got some new tarts at Yankee and a gift for another dear mom at school who just had a sweet baby girl. Welcome Olivia!!!

Thursday was Open House at the kids school. I cannot stress enough how much I love that school. I swear its the #1 reason we stay here. Since none of our family lives too close we have really come to rely on the friends we have made there.By the time I was Em's age I had lived in the same house but had attended THREE different schools! I tell her she is a lucky girl to have the same friends now that she did 3 years ago.

Speaking of Em and her friends I ordered her party invites!! They are adorable and even have a pic of her at the Jonas Brothers show on the back. And speaking of pics of Emma...... She is a 'celebrity'! Em is the covergirl of the Carnegie Science Center's new Fall brochure. It is the same photo used HERE on page 5. I had forgotten all about the photo shoot the kids did a few months back. They didn't use Noahs(maybe they will later, I'm not sure) but he didn't seem to mind.In case you are wondering-Yes,my little girl is wrapped in toilet paper. She is supposed to be a Mummy!

So now the weekend is half over. Doesn't mean much to me though. I worked last night, all day today, tonight and tomorrow.Time for bed!
